ANKLE COMPRESSION SLEEVE
Our ankle compression orthosis PCO-L-12 is designed for stability and posture control improvement in case of neurological disorders. Improves function of ankle joint and covers the sensory deficits.
How does it work?
Made of soft material PowerElastic™, provides deep, core compression and normalizes muscles tone. Elasticity and deep pressure improves the body coordination and limits the involuntary movements.
PowerElastic™ is a very thin and very flexible fabric for the production of delicate and sophisticated orthopedic products. It consists of spandex, the action of which is responsible for proper compression and fitting of the product to the patient's body, and reduces muscle vibrations generated during increased physical exertion. It is responsible for maintaining the proper climate next to the skin and effective drainage of sweat, and its structure guarantees velvety softness to the touch. PowerElastic™ is skin-friendly fabric and has the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate.
Orthosis improves gait, balance and lower limb stabilization. Deep compression of ankle improves the contact, midstance and propulsive phases during walking. Used together with compression suits, provides muscles control and core stability. The sleeve improves lower limb’s proprioception in the calf area.
Ankle compression sleeve PCO-L-12 should be used as a additional to occupational and physical therapy activity. This solution will reduce involuntary movements, normalize muscle balance and improve therapeutic effects.
It is believed that this type of Postural Compression Orthoses PCO® and deep compression provides better sensory information to the brain, increases proprioception and child’s knowledge about its own body. Due to this fact, dynamic PCO® orthoses are the best solution for improving treatment in case of abnormal tone and decreasing spasticity.
